Day 6: Kirtland

Today we went to Kirtland. First stop? The temple. As nice as it was, we all felt the same...the Spirit wasn't there. It's amazing to feel the difference between going to the Community of Christ (the new name) and going to the Church sites.

At the temple:

Church Sites:
Newel K. Whitney Store

Front room:

Storage Room/Back Room:
Emma's Kitchen:
Newel K. Whitney Store:
(Yellow home=lots of money/prestige because it was hard to mix the paint)
Winter kitchen (not as deep to warm the room)
Summer kitchen (deeper)
Room/bed that Joseph Smith Jr. and Emma lived for 18 months.

Day 4 & 5

Day 4: Saturday

Nothing much today. We relaxed quite a bit and then went to Cosco. Afterwards, we went to see Harry Potter at the drive-in. It would've been awesome if we didn't have a train pass by 10 times...or the pouring rain. Better luck next time, right?

Day 5: Sunday
Church (Livi gave a talk in Primary), Naps, Dinner, Huntington Beach and Rexbox (Inkheart and Push)

It's been really nice (and convenient) to have Lake Erie about 5 minutes from our home. We really enjoy the beach and MetroParks in the area.

Coming to Cleveland

This is Katie writing. I thought that I might as well get Iris and Terry a blog. They don't have a digital camera (we'll have to fix that!), but at least they can have the pictures from their trip captured here:

Day 1 Wednesday:
Got in around 11:30p.m. and crashed around 2:30 a.m. or so:

Day 2 Thursday:
Woke up a little late. Decided we were going to go to Niagara Falls! (Spontaneous, eh?!) Luke had to get new tires put on the SUV, so we left around 5 p.m. or so. Hit a little traffic, but it wasn't too bad. Arrived in Buffalo around 10p.m. It was nice having Jarrett's discount at Marriott!

Day 3: Niagara Falls and Maid of the Mist
